The XRP Ledger has activated PermissionDelegationV1_1, a new feature that could be especially relevant for banks, stablecoin issuers and other institutional users. Since October 8, 2026, account owners can grant specific permissions to separate accounts without sharing the primary keys that control their main holdings. From a technical perspective, this is not a spectacular price catalyst. However, it is important for the long-term development of the XRP Ledger because it addresses a key requirement for institutional finance: different responsibilities and permissions can now be separated more clearly within an organization. That means a company could, for example, authorize one account to handle payments while another account is responsible for compliance-related tasks. The main account keeps control of its own keys, and the delegated permissions can later be changed or revoked.
